The Corcoran’s first annual Community Art Fair is a juried exhibition and sale of fine arts and crafts made by D.C.-area artists. The fair will take place in the Corcoran’s North Atrium onSaturday,October 20, 2012as part of Community Day at the Corcoran, a day-long celebration of art and creativity. A panel of Corcoran College of Art + Design faculty will serve as the expert jurors and will select applicants based on the quality of their work and artist statement.

Application Process:

Community Art Fair vendor applications are available at Each applicant must submit an application, which includes a brief artist statement and description of work, and five (5) high-resolution images. The images must be representative of the work that will be sold at the art fair.


The deadline to apply isSeptember 7, 2012,and notification will be sent onSeptember 17, 2012.


Booth Fees:

If accepted through the jury process, vendors will pay a $50 booth fee. Accepted Corcoran students will pay a discounted rate of $25. Booth fees are non-refundable. Vendors are welcome to share a booth with one other vendor if they wish.


General Information:

Community Art Fair Hours: Saturday, October 20, 2012; 10 a.m.–3 p.m.


Booth Set-up: Saturday, October 20, 2012; 7 a.m. – 10 a.m. All booth displays must be in place by 10 a.m.


Booth Break-Down: Saturday, October 20, 2012; 3 p.m. – 4 p.m.


Artists may enter any of the following media: painting, paper, photography, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, drawing, fiber, glass, jewelry, metal, and mixed media.


The Corcoran takes no percentage of vendor profits from the Community Art Fair.


The Corcoran will provide access to an electrical outlet upon vendor request.


The Corcoran Gallery of Art and College of Art + Design will not be held responsible for damage or loss of work displayed at the Community Art Fair.
