The Role

Bloomberg’s global Multimedia group -- which includes television, web, radio, and mobile -- is seeking talented information graphic artists, multimedia animators, and interaction designers to join a new multimedia “insight team.”

This team's goal is to produce multimedia stories and interactive content that provide analysis and insight about the day's big stories in global business and finance. We aim to bring to life the significance of events, set news into broader context, and drill down beneath the headlines in a fresh, distinctly visual and multimedia way. These stories and content will be featured on our website, in our mobile news products, and on our global television channels, which together target a global business audience.

Our ambition is to produce content that exploits the full potential of the most innovative platforms for interactive and animated media to achieve an exceptional level of clarity, visual creativity, storytelling flair, and intellectual depth.

The daily task of the artists, animators, and designers will be twofold. First, they will collaborate with story editors and expert business news analysts to create storyboards that creatively combine information graphics (including data charts, diagrams and illustrations), animated graphics, video, text art, still imagery, and interactive graphics to bring news analysis to life as a visual story and/or interactive content. Second, they will turn these storyboards into multimedia content and interactive graphics for publication and broadcast.


We are looking for artists, animators, and designers with one or more of the following skills:

  • A distinctive knack for visual storytelling
  • Exceptional Information graphics and data visualization experience
  • Intuitive and delightful interaction design for the web, mobile, and TV set touch-screens
  • Exceptional animation skills that can be put to use telling engaging visual stories
  • Stylish and quick illustration skills
  • Masterful technical expertise on both mainstream and cutting-edge platforms e.g. Flash, Photoshop, Illustrator, Final Cut Pro, Javascript, Processing, etc.
  • Intellectual curiosity about business, financial, and economic topics
