Donate Artwork for the Human Rights Campaign National Dinner Silent Auction

July 14, 2010

Faculty, Alumni, and Student Artwork Needed for the 14th Annual Human Rights Campaign Annual Dinner and Silent Auction

The Corcoran College of Art + Design is an official sponsor of the 2010 Human Rights Campaign (HRC) National Dinner and Silent Auction, which will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. The HRC is a national advocacy organization working for the equal rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Americans through education, research, and political activities. The National Dinner brings together more than 3,000 HRC members, friends, family, and allies for an evening of celebration and inspiration. The HRC National Dinner attracts the nation’s top figures in entertainment and politics.

We are currently seeking donations of artwork (all media) from Corcoran faculty, alumni, and current degree students for inclusion in the Silent Auction. Donating an item to the silent auction is an excellent opportunity to build awareness within the GLBT community, a sophisticated and loyal consumer market. Auction items will be advertised widely and will be the focus of the National Dinner General Reception. Because the Corcoran College of Art + Design is the official sponsor for the “Art” section of the auction, Corcoran artists will be in the spotlight. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure as an artist while supporting the mission and work done by the HRC.

How to make a donation

If you would like to donate a piece(s) of artwork for the auction, please fill out the Corcoran Art Donation Form and return it to Stephanie Moos, Associate Director of Student Affairs, by Thursday, September 30, 2010. Upon receipt of your donation form a Corcoran representative will contact you to confirm your donation and provide instructions for the delivery, shipping, or pick-up of your artwork. Please do not ship your artwork to the Corcoran. Artists may submit a short biography or artist statement, a photo, brochures, and/or business cards for display alongside their artwork at the auction. Donors whose silent auction donations total $2500 or more will receive $100 off any black and white Program Book advertisement.
