As you may know, our illustrious alumnus Mr. Tim Gunn is the honorary chair of this year’s Corcoran Ball. The Ball is scheduled for the evening of Friday, April 16. The Ball includes a seated dinner and Mr. Gunn will have a table of his own. He has asked that Corcoran students be included among his guests at his table, and he has asked that I select students to join him. Very exciting!

Both undergraduate and graduate degree program students will be considered, but you must be 21 or older to be considered. Also, men will need to be prepared to wear suit and tie, and women cocktail attire.

If you wish to be considered for a guest spot at Tim Gunn’s Ball table, here’s what to do:

Submit a no-more-than 300-word “essay” answering the question: Why should I be chosen to attend the Corcoran Ball and have dinner with Tim Gunn?

Submit this essay electronically, as a PDF or Word document, to Lacey Gentry, coordinator of student affairs (lgentry@corcoran.org). Please include personal contact information and your date of birth with your submission. The absolute deadline is 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 2, 2010. Late submissions will not be considered. Students selected will be notified by Friday, April 9.

This is a marvelous opportunity and we are most grateful to Mr. Gunn for his generosity.

Let the competition begin!
