First Lady joins ArtReach teachers to create a mural at the Joint Base Anacostia Bolling Youth Center

Joint Base Anacostia Bolling Youth Center

On Thursday, May 19, First Lady Michelle Obama, along with Corcoran students Izzy Ventura, Mia Olsen, Joy McMahon, Allie Nambo, Jordan Sanders and Corcoran Director of Community Partnerships Melissa Green, joined with congressional spouses to work with the families from the Youth Center at Joint Base Anacostia Bolling on a colorful mural project. The initiative, part of the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities, engaged 20 children and 10 parents from the base. Together, they painted a mural in the Youth Center of the base and 14 art benches to be dispersed around the grounds of the base.
