Graphic Design Internship

Position Description:
USA TODAY is a multi-platform news and information company,
looking for a talented, responsible and enthusiastic individual
to intern for the Creative Marketing department.
This position will be critical to assisting USA TODAY's Creative
Marketing department on several exciting projects.  The marketing
intern will work closely with the Art Director and team to
develop a consistent brand strategy across all of USA TODAY’s
platforms.  The campaigns range in variety and may include sports
coverage, USA TODAY subscriptions; various travel programs, and
other general marketing campaigns.
Interns are responsible for assisting the creative team in
preparing print ads, direct mail, point-of-sale, web banner ads,
e-Blasts and more.  Candidates should be organized and
independent self-starters.  Additionally they should have a
design-related major and/or experience in graphic design.

Please note that this is an unpaid, for-credit internship. You
must be a student currently enrolled in an accredited college or
university, and you will be asked to provide documentation from
your school showing that you will receive school credit for
successful completion of the internship.

We provide free parking.  We also provide a small transportation
stipend to help defray your commuting costs.  The internship is
located at our corporate headquarters: 7950 Jones Branch Drive,
McLean, Va.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator,
InDesign and Flash required.
• Some development skills are a plus: Javascript, Jquery, CSS
or HTML
• Effective communication with peers
• Basic understanding of best practices for digital and print
design
• Willingness to learn and take direction from creative leads
• Ability to work quickly in deadline-oriented environment


Time Commitment: Temporary
hours: 37.5 weekly for summer
Compensation: College Credit
