Job description
IBM is seeking a User Experience & Visual Designer to join our dynamic product design team. We’re looking for someone with training in user interface, graphic or user experience (UX) design with a passion for innovation, great visual design skills, and a desire to work with leading edge technologies (e.g. social media, web, mobile).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create & own production-ready graphics & layouts for our software applications.
  • Solid understanding of design principles with the ability to address complex problems and provide sound design solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional design teams to create compelling user interfaces.
  • Create wireframes & interactive prototypes using HTML/CSS/JS to effectively communicate interaction & design concepts.
  • Collaborate in the requirements gathering and specification phases of a project.
  • Keep the rest of the team up-to-date on the latest design techniques/trends/ideas
  • Participate in usability testing with target users.

    Requirements/Preferences:

  • BS/BA degree in Human Factors, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, or related area.
  • A strong design portfolio that demonstrates past work.
  • Experience creating interaction designs for web applications or sites.
  • Strong visual design skills (layout, hierarchy, typography, color theory, patterns) and a fanatical attention to detail down to the pixel
  • Expertise in web design & graphics tools including Photoshop, Illustrator, HTML, CSS, Flash, etc.
  • Strong customer and user focus.
  • Comfortable working on highly technical teams.
  • Comfortable working with rapidly changing requirements.
  • Desire to grow and improve as a designer.

    • Basic knowledge in Graphic/Visual Design
    • Readiness to travel 10% travel annually
    • English: Fluent
