Writing Workshop, Session III time change

Writing Workshops Fall 2009

The last session of the Writing Workshop series has been moved back an hour to accommodate advising and class registration. The  workshop will take place in the Student Lounge at the Downtown campus, begin at 1pm, and last for approximately 45 minutes.

Session 3: Demystifying Citation Systems (November 16) Footnotes? Endnotes? Parentheses? This session will show you how to avoid plagiarism in your writing assignments.

Graphic Design Internship

Seeking current Juniors or Seniors in a Graphic Arts program, available approximately 20 hours per week. Must have familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite 4, and basic Microsoft Office skills.

Responsibilities include various print and web projects, file maintenance and organization, and other support as needed for Creative Services Manager. Must live within a reasonable commuting distance to Georgetown.

Offering $10/hour.

FLASHPOINT GALLERY REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS

Application Deadline: December 17, 2009

Each fall, Flashpoint, a Cultural Development Corporation (CuDC) project, distributes Requests for Proposals for its programs. Artists interested in exhibiting their work at the Flashpoint Gallery in the 2010–11 season can download the RFP. The RFP includes information about the program, guidelines and an application form. The deadline for the Gallery RFP is December 17, 2009.

Next week, Stephanie Moore from VSA Arts, a local art organization, will be visiting to my Humanities I "Perspectives on Disability" classes to discuss an exciting upcoming art project. She will be in classroom 14C at 10:15 a.m. and classroom 14A at 3:15p.m. at the Downtown campus on Monday, November 16. All are invited to attend while she discusses their project What is disability?
