Community Day at the Corcoran
Saturday, November 2
10 a.m.–3 p.m.
All ages welcome!
The Corcoran is going pop-up! For one day only, come gather, create, and be inspired at this FREE celebration of art & creativity. Try your hand at printmaking, make a ceramic bowl to be donated to SOME (So Others Might Eat), check-out a 3D Printing demonstration, and shop at our Community Art Fair, featuring fine arts and crafts made by D.C.-area artists. Don’t miss artist talks, special tours, films, music, and beer tastings all afternoon in our Biergarten sponsored by Muse Café. Gallery admission and activities are FREE; no registration required.
The Corcoran College of Art + Design will also be on-hand on Community Day! If you are interested in learning more about our Graduate Degree programs, join faculty, staff, and students for an Open House event taking place in Gallery 31 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. The event will include degree program information and staff introductions, financial aid information, and refreshments.
Community Day also marks the opening of the latest NOW at the Corcoran exhibition, Mia Feuer: An Unkindness .
SOME (So Others Might Eat) is an interfaith, community-based organization that exists to help the poor and homeless of our nation's capital. SOME works to break the cycle of homelessness by providing immediate daily needs such as food, clothing, and health care, and offering services including affordable housing, job training, addiction treatment, and counseling to the poor, the elderly, and individuals with mental illness.
