Attention, D.C. teachers! The Corcoran has bus funds for field trips. To apply, please write to Mariel Gabet (email@example.com) stating your need and how the Corcoran can support your curriculum.
Each year, more than 5,000 students and teachers experience art at the Corcoran through Gallery tours, hands-on workshops, valuable educator resources, and educational programming. Educators are invited to take advantage of a variety of professional development opportunities, and a range of resources available to help integrate art into the classroom or prepare students for a visit to the Gallery.
For more information or to contact the Public Education office, please call (202) 639-1730 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Public Education department, in collaboration with the Corcoran College of Art + Design’s Art Education program, offers professional development opportunities. These programs are designed to help teachers make meaningful classroom connections with works of art. Teachers explore special exhibitions and the Corcoran’s collection while learning new ways to incorporate object-based learning into their curriculum. Participants take part in studio experiences, writing activities, Gallery explorations, and lectures. Attendees receive an Educator Packet compliment of the Public Education department. Pre-registration is required and limited space is available.
Special Benefit for Art Teachers
Full-time art teachers, nation-wide, are eligible for tuition free Art Education and Studio courses at the Corcoran, for credit, on a “space available,” non-degree basis. Art teachers considering application to a degree program may inquire about credit transfer policies associated with entering a degree program. Visit Continuing Education for more information.
