Motions and Masterpieces

The Corcoran collection inspires pirouettes, heel turns, and a lock step or two. Work with D.C. dance educators and try out movement exercises based on masterpieces. End the night with an improv performance by the Youth Dance Ensemble from Joy of Motion Dance Center. Wear comfortable clothes. Jazz or ballet shoes recommended.

Fee: Members: $8, Nonmembers: $10. DCPS and DC Public Charter School educators receive free admission generously provided by DC Arts and Humanities Education Collaborative.

Includes admission, light refreshments, studio materials and lesson plan.

The Corcoran Gallery of Art is located at 500 Seventeenth Street NW
The main entrance is located on Seventeenth Street between New York Avenue and E Street NW.

Metered street parking is available in the area, but limited. Meter payment required Monday–Saturday 7 a.m.–10 p.m. Time limits apply. Please read meter signage carefully. Parking is free on Sundays and holidays.

The Corcoran is just a few blocks away from two convenient Metro rail stations: Farragut West- on the Orange/Blue lines (take the 17th street exit) and Farragut North-on the Red line (take the K Street exit). From either station, walk south on Seventeenth Street to the Corcoran.
The Corcoran is also accessible by Metro bus numbers: 11Y, 32, 36, 42, G8, P17, P19, W13
