Gallery 31, May 2–13, 2012
Opening Reception: Thursday, May 3, 6–8 pm
This display explores variations on the traditional book form by three graduating students. Tia Blassingame surveys segregation in the D.C. area through a comparison of the urban landscape during a volatile time in U.S. history and its present-day counterpart. Patti Harden examines humanity's search for the soul across cultures and time periods, bringing to light many perspectives on one great mystery. Natalie Jackson recreates a modern-day fairytale rooted in traditions of Russian avant-garde.
