Cosmo Couture 2013
Artist Panel Discussion: November 20, 6:30 p.m. RSVP here
Please join us for an incredible evening of conversation with D.C.'s most innovative interior designers and architects as they discuss their bird-inspired fashion designs from the Cosmo Couture runway show on view in the Corcoran's Gallery 31. The night's festivities will begin in the Frances and Armand Hammer Auditorium, followed by an opening reception in Gallery 31 and the North Atrium. Reception is free and open to the public.
Each year, the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) Mid-Atlantic Washington Metro City Center Chapter brings together D.C. area architecture and interior design firms with local manufacturing partners for a night of creative design talent and runway innovation called Cosmo Couture. On September 19th, the Corcoran College of Art + Design's Interior Design Program was among the participating teams challenged to construct a garment made from materials that are typically seen in the built environment rather than on the fashion runway. The theme, birds of the National Zoo, served as inspiration for some of the best creative talent in the area to design an array of innovative garments that will be on display at the Corcoran Gallery of Art's Gallery 31 through December 8th.
Once again, the Corcoran College of Art + Design was the only student team to take part in the competition and consisted of MA Interior Design candidates Blair Bunting, Brittany Bloom, Alexandra Davis, Allyson Jaffee, Martha Mukungu, Lauren Reynolds, and Maureen Ursino.
