Ann Allen

Ann Allen has a passion for arts and culture, education, and community development. As an advocate of museums and community arts–based organizations, I establish partnerships within these non-profits and raise awareness of their ability to support educational needs of all learners. Having served over 20 years as a museum educator and certified docent in the Teacher, School, and Family Programs at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., I have firsthand experience. I taught art in the District of Columbia Public School System grades Pre-K-6, and art education strategies to adults at the University of the District of Columbia, conducted workshops in partnership with District of Columbia Department of Employment Services to teach career advancement/life skills to young adults, and successfully managed corporate accounts at Marriott International.
I received a Masters of Art Degree in Community Arts Administration and Management and Graduate Certificate in Management of Non-Profits on Fellowship from the University of Illinois; Masters of Art Degree in Education from George Mason University; and Bachelors of Arts Degree in Business Administration and Art History from the University of Maryland. I have established a foundation for blending formal academics with practical experiences to build cohesive teams that focus on targeted goals while remaining sensitive to the issues that arise in the daily course of teaching and supporting diverse people and processes in today’s competitive global markets.
