Erin Miller is an Adjunct Faculty member for both the undergraduate and graduate Interior Design program, and serves as the Academic Advisor for the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design program. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design and a Master of Science in Architecture from Virginia Tech. In addition to architecture and design, Erin developed a passion for higher education studies and contemporary teaching methods, earning a graduate certificate in these areas. While earning her undergraduate degree, Ms. Miller began her career as an intern with commercial design firm Burt Hill Inc. in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and gained high-end residential interior design experience with Carden Cunietti in London, England. Prior to returning to graduate school, she then specialized in hospitality design with HVScompass Design in Rockville, Maryland, completing Marriott, Hilton and Starwood-branded properties. Ms. Miller currently works for Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Architects, LLP in Washington, DC, focusing on healthcare and research facilities, as well as workplace environments. Erin is an NCIDQ certificate holder and LEED Accredited Professional. She began teaching Introduction to Interior Design at the Corcoran in 2009, and began advising for the program in the Fall of 2010. Erin continues to work with students through individual directed study opportunities and will also teach an Interior Design elective for the Corcoran’s Pre-College summer program, a new addition beginning Summer 2011.
