Francheska Guerrero is Interim Chair of Undergraduate Design and Associate Professor in the BFA Design Department at the Corcoran College of Art + Design in Washington D.C. She is also Principal and Design Director of Unfolding Terrain, a multi-disciplinary design studio. She earned a BFA at College for Creative Studies (CCS), and an MFA in the 2D Design department at Cranbrook Academy of Art.
Ms. Guerrero's work has been published nationally and internationally in the following publications: Rockport books Visual Language for Designers, Design for Special Events, No Rules Logos, Radical Design Solutions that Break the Rules; 1000 Fonts; Crescent Hill Books™ Designing for the Greater Good; and Japan™ P.I.E. books Logo World and Postcard Graphics. Design competition and exhibition accolades include: 2004, 2008, and 2009 HOW Magazine International Design Annual; The Type Director's Club; AIGA Detroit Design RE:View 07, 05, and 03; the 2007/2008 and 2009/2010 AIGA DC 50 Design Competition and Exhibition; and the Art Directors Club of Metropolitan Washington's 59th, 60th, and 61st Annual Shows.
Lectures include "American Design" at the Swedish Embassy, House of Sweden in Washington D.C.; the "Nancy Clarvit Design Week Lecture Series" at University of Maryland; and the "Spotlight on D.C. Design Lecture Series" at George Mason University. Ms. Guerrero's banner designs was selected to be hung in Washington, D.C. as a part of Urban Forest Project DC, and she co-curated the subsequent Urban Forest Project DC exhibition at the Corcoran Gallery of Art's Gallery 31.
