Mr. Brookes is Senior Detailer at Quatrefoil and Associates, a firm specializing in the design, prototyping, and implementation of visitor experiences and exhibitions. He provides technical expertise and documentation to insure that projects are built and installed to the highest levels of quality, appearance, and durability. He is expert in a variety of communication tools including hand-sketching, computer rendering, and animation. Formerly he was principal of Studio Brookes Inc., providing services across all project disciplines for design firms and fabricators. Clients have included the Walt Disney Epcot Center, Orlando; the White House Historical Society; the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum; the National Museum of American History; and the National Park Service. He is co-author of “Exhibit Conservation Guidelines” for the National Park Service, which is the standard reference guide for designers and fabricators. He has been guest speaker on conservation guidelines for exhibitions for professional organizations including the American Association of Museums, the American Institute for Conservation, and the International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property, Milan, Italy. He holds a B.A. degree in Three-Dimensional Design from Middlesex Polytechnic, London, and a B/TEC Diploma in Art & Design from Bourneville College of Art, Birmingham, England. He insures that students gain the skills and in-depth understanding of the details required to communicate the design intent for all exhibit elements, including interactives and media.
