Mary Ellen Carsley
Born and raised in Washington, DC, Ms. Carsley received her Bachelors of Architecture from Catholic University and Masters of Museum Studies from Johns Hopkins University. After practicing architecture for seven years, she opened her own studio specializing in illustration of the natural sciences. Her works have been published in scientific and educational texts, and national and international periodicals. Her clients have included the Academy of Natural Sciences, the Smithsonian Institution, Carnegie Institute and Pew Charitable Trusts as well as the Nature Conservancy. Her graphite, ink and watercolor works are in the collections of the Library of Congress, National Building Museum as well as many private collections.
