Maryanne Grebenstein

Maryanne is a calligrapher, teacher, and book designer in the Boston area. She is owner and lead designer of The Abbey Studio (www.theabbeystudio.com). She conducts calligraphy and manuscript gilding classes in the studio as well as at North Bennet Street School, Boston (www.nbss.org) and several museums in the Boston area. She is a former Adjunct Professor at Massachusetts College of Art (www.massart.edu).

She is the author of Calligraphy: A Course in Hand Lettering, published by Watson-Guptill, and has authored several magazine articles on the subject of medieval and renaissance manuscript collections. She also organizes trips, both domestic and abroad, to view manuscript collections.
