Mathilda Cox, ASID has developed an international interior design business over the past 30 years commencing in New York in 1980. Born in Ireland, she studied in London at the Inchbald School of Design, and after more international travel she settled in New York and attended the New York School of Interior Design. She apprenticed with the architectural firm of Bromley Jacobsen before starting her own practice. She moved back to London and continued her practice before returning permanently to the United States and settling in Washington D.C., where she has remained for the past 21 years.
Ms. Cox is a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers and has served both on the Washington Metro Board of ASID and the D.C. Board of Architecture and Interior Design, and remains actively involved in her profession. She maintains her busy practice and has been an Adjunct Professor in the Interior Design department at the Corcoran College of Art + Design since 2005.
