


Rebecca Alberts
Rebecca Alberts received her MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art; an MPS from George Washington University on fellowship from AAAS in Science Education; and is a candidate for ED.D from George Washington University in Curriculum and Pedagogy. Ms. Alberts previously taught studio art: college to middle school. Is currently in her 11th year of teaching 8th grade science at the Lab School of Washington, a K-12 school for students with language-based learning disabilities. The premice of the school is to infuse academics with the arts. In addition, she is currently a recipient of a Lehman Family Foundation Fellowship in which she will travel to the Galapogos Islands to do educational research and naturalist observation through both writing and art. Teaching arts education at the Corcoran, she teaches classes in which the praxis of theory and practice come together for students to learn how to use art to help teach academic concepts.
