Artists' Books
The Corcoran Library collects artists’ books in support of the curriculum at the Corcoran College of Art + Design. The collection of more than 200 works focuses on pieces with a social consciousness. We select a broad range of techniques and materials to make the collection a valuable teaching tool for all students at CCA+D.
It is recommended that students and faculty make an appointment to view artists’ books material. An appointment is required for outside researchers.
Tip: Find artists’ books in the Corcoran Library’s online catalog following these steps:
- Switch to Power Search (lower left button in search box)
- In the drop-down box labeled location, select Artists’ Books.
- Click Search.
Bring the box number, the artist’s name, and the book title to the Information Desk and a staff member will retrieve it for you.
Artists’ books do not circulate and must be used in the Library. Food and drinks are not permitted around artists’ books.
