Diagrams (in PDF form) may be in separate files from the thesis
text in the electronic copy CD-ROM submitted to the Library.
However, diagrams must be included in a final single PDF file
for submission to UMI Dissertation Publishing. Instructions
on how to combine PDF files can be found at FAQ number six
at http://dissertations.umi.com/pdffaq.html.
This website also provides information about preparing your
file for submission.
Other questions about the submission process can be found at http://dissertations.umi.com/faq.html.
Converting manuscripts to PDF files
Students may use the UMI Dissertation Publishing online conversion
tool to convert their manuscripts from a Microsoft Word (or
RTF) document to a PDF file. Alternatively, they may produce
their own PDF file. In either case, all manuscripts must be
submitted as PDF files, and it is the student's responsibility
to ensure that the PDF file is an accurate representation of
the original manuscript.
Submit approved thesis to UMI
To begin the electronic submission process, go to the UMI Dissertation
Publishing website [http://dissertations.umi.com/corcoran]
and follow the instructions.
