New research guide - Photographs of the Civil War

The Library staff have created a new research guide - Photographs of the Civil War.  This guide will help you find information at the Corcoran Library related to the Corcoran Gallery exhibition "Shadows of History: Photographs of the Civil War from the Collection of Julia J. Norrell" (February 4 - May 6, 2012).

Current Exhibition Shelf 

The Corcoran Library now maintains a reserve shelf for current local exhibitions and related material. Find current exhibitions catalogs for Corcoran shows, plus exhibitions at the National Gallery, the Hirshhorn, the Phillips Collection, and more. Ask for the catalogs at the information desk. Reserve items may be checked out for four hours. 

Writing Center now open

The Corcoran Writing Center is open! They can help you with reading, writing, editing, and other related projects.  Visit them in the Student Lounges at both the Georgetown and Downtown campuses. Their hours are posted around campus, or can be found through the Corcoran website or on the Writing Center’s Facebook page.

Welcome Back!

January 20, 2012

Welcome back to school! The Library staff missed all of our fantastic patrons while you were on break, but we were not idle while you were gone. During the break our fabulous student staff moved every book in the Library in a huge shifting project intended to create some breathing room and space for growth in our bookshelves. A big thank you to everyone who participated in that project. We also looked for mis-shelved books and DVDs throughout the collection, so hopefully things will be easier to find - at least for a few weeks.

Library Closings for the Holiday Break

The Corcoran Library will close at 1 pm on Thursday, December 22 and at 1 pm on Friday, December 23.

The Library will be closed from December 24-January 2. We will reopen January 3 with Winter Break hours (M-Th 9-6, F 9-5).

Congratulations to all students, faculty, and staff for another great semester! The Library staff cannot tell you how much we enjoy working with all of you. We hope everyone enjoys the break and gets some well deserved rest.
