New database - Points of View Reference Center

October 30, 2013

The Library has a new database that will be very useful to everyone researching current events and topics. Points of View Reference Center provides an overview (objective background/description), point (argument), counterpoint (opposing argument), and bibliography for over 300 topics of current interest, such as Censorship, Human Rights, and Gender Issues. For each topic, this database also offers a Guide to Critical Analysis, which helps the reader evaluate the controversial topics.

Database Changes in the Library

October 2, 2013

You may notice some familiar names missing from our database list, but not to fear, they've just changed packaging. Art Full Text, Art & Architecture Complete, and Art Index Retrospective have been folded into a larger database - Art Source. Art Source was created from the combination of five separate database, including two that Corcoran Library users didn't have access to before. Art Source contains indexing, abstracting, and full-text for over 640 leading academic journals, magazines and trade publications, and 225 books.
