Andy Grundberg, Muriel Hasbun and Pablo Ortiz Monasterio to Participate in Society for Photographic Education's National Conference

Associate Provost and Dean of Undergraduate Studies Andy Grundberg, Chair of Photography Muriel Hasbun, and visiting instructor and artist Pablo Ortiz Monasterio's proposal for a three-person panel, "Conversación: Dialogue at a Distance," was accepted for the Society for Photographic Education's National Conference in Baltimore, Maryland March 6-9, 2014.

Art and the Book Alum

Art and the Book alum Maria Veronica San Martin will particpate in an important human rights exhibition in Chile. Her thesis project will be displayed at the Museo de la Memoria y los Derechos Humanos (Memory Museum and Human Rights) in the exhibition Memoria Y Paisaje: Develando Las Verdades Historicas de Chile September 11 through December 15, 2013.

NMPJ Students Selected for 2013 Coney Island Film Festival

New Media Photojournalism students Ben Dorger, Jenny Harnish and Emma Scott have been accepted into the 2013 Coney Island Film Festival in New York.  Their film "The Downhome Dare Devils" will be screened during the festival, wjhich runs from September 21-23, 2013.

GSA National Capital Region

The GSA NCR Office of Planning and Quality Design is establishing a rotating art exhibit for spaces where we have blank walls in our Regional Office Building (ROB) located at 7th & D Streets, SW. The GSA is a federal agency that supplies products and communications for U.S. government offices, provides transportation and and office space to federal employees, and develops government-wide cost-minimizing policies, and other management tasks.

Pam Lawton Co-Authors Article for Studies in Art Education

Pam Lawton, director of education studies, has co-authored an article featured in the Summer 2013 issue of Studies in Art Education titled "Beyond Traditional Art Education: Transformative Lifelong Learning in Community-Based Settings with Older Adults."
