A group of young patrons and rising business, civic, and social leaders, the 1869 Society supports the Corcoran by hosting art-infused events throughout the year. Its trademark galas, ARTINI and Fall Fête, take place every spring and fall, and Cultural Cocktail events are held monthly.
Taking its name from the year of the Corcoran’s founding, this group of dynamic young professionals is committed to promoting the arts in Washington, D.C. and celebrating the educational and cultural programs offered by the Corcoran. In the words of 1869 Society chair Carl Bedell, “The 1869 Society is a tremendous group of DC’s young professionals who have a shared passion for the arts and an interest in being a part of one of America’s oldest art museums. Our members enjoy special events throughout the year that provide a social atmosphere in which we can enjoy the Corcoran’s tremendous collection and support the museum."
